Autumn Poems

Today we wrote poetry about autumn. We used similes to paint a picture in the mind of our readers. Here are some for you to enjoy.

Autumn
The mountains glimmer like snow and shimmer like ice in autumn.
The trees swish all around like leaves running away to hibernate.
The wind makes the trees swoosh around like monkeys swinging from branch to branch.
The rain explodes down like a cannonball and cleans the ground like a sponge.
The leaves get cannonballed out of the trees like a bird going fishing.
The sun shines like a ball of fire.
The lake shines like the sun and glimmers like fire.
Caroline

Leaves are swaying in the distance like dancers on the stage.
The trees are swaying to and fro like balloons blowing away.
The rain is as cold as icebergs and the sun is glittering on the raindrops to make them sparkle and shine like diamonds.
The mountains are as tall as trees and the lake is as wide as the ocean.
Millie
